<p dir="ltr">Artslink Go Local is an Art and Design Further Education college, located at the heart of Shanghai with a truly global outlook. Working with Arts University Plymouth, Artslink Go Local offers students the opportunity to engage with UK degree programmes from Artslink’s campus environment in downtown Zhongshan Park, Shanghai.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Artslink Go Local students are welcome to make the Artslink Go Local campus their home, attending class from the Artslink Go Local campus just as they would in the UK, interacting with colleagues and classmates face-to-face in addition to online. Students will also benefit from access to local university-standard creative workshops and studios, alongside online engagement with Arts University Plymouth’s expert staff, including:</p><ul><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Academic tutorial support</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Contextual studies seminars</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Technical support</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">English for Academic Purposes workshops.</p></li></ul>
<p dir="ltr">Artslink Go Local's own team of tutors will be on hand to provide guidance and support to students throughout the first year of their degree. From experiential retail designers to couture pattern cutters to freelance illustrators, Artslink Go Local tutors are all active creative practitioners with a wealth of experience in the global creative industries, ready to support your studies and work alongside tutors from Arts University Plymouth to ensure your successful progression from year one to year two of your chosen degree. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Your second and third year of your degree with Arts University Plymouth will take place on campus in the UK. Our international recruitment team are ready to work with you and the team at Artslink Go Local to help you sort out your travel to and arrival in the UK, as well as helping you find accommodation in Plymouth, and settling into life as a student in the UK ahead of your second year of study.</p>

<p dir="ltr">If you don't meet our requirements for direct entry on to the BA, ArtsLink Go Local also offer a six month foundation course starting in August, which allows you to develop your creative skills, portfolio and academic English, and guarantees you a place upon successful completion and interview.<br /></p>

<p>Arts University Plymouth is officially registered by the <a href="https://www.officeforstudents.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/the-register/the-ofs-register/#:~:text='Recognised%20bodies'%20are%20those%20higher,found%20on%20the%20OfS's%20Register." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Office for Students</a>, which is the single, authoritative reference about a provider’s regulatory status, under <a href="https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/573/schedule/made" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">UK legislation</a>. <p>We are excited that we can now offer a range of our <strong><a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/study/distance-learning">BA (Hons) creative courses</a></strong> to students in China through our distance learning provision, working with Artslink. Our vision for excellence in art and design distance learning, under the banner of our Connected Campus, affords students flexibility in their studies whilst being a valued part of our community. </p>
<p>These <strong>three-year courses</strong> all share a common distance-learning first year while specialising in a chosen subject, then progressing into our named <strong><a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses">BA (Hons) awards</a></strong> in years two and three on campus in the UK at Arts University Plymouth. In the distance-learning first year, students will have access to physical workshop and studio spaces in China, facilitated through our connections with Artslink.</p>
<p>January Start Degrees allow you to begin your studies in the Spring term from China. A January Start Degree will suit applicants who have taken Artslink’s Foundation course, and you will be supported in making your application to the January Start Degree of your choice by the Artslink team, working alongside our International Recruitment team.</p>
<p>The first-year distance learning element of these courses will finish in August, allowing you to take a short summer break before continuing straight onto the second year of your chosen degree at our city-centre Plymouth campus, towards the end of September.</p>

<p>The opportunity to start an undergraduate course in the Spring term will allow you to complete a Foundation course at the Artslink campus in China, before applying to your choice of January start degree, which will commence at the start of January. </p>
<p>This route is ideal for students in China who would like the opportunity to study remotely from China for their first year, helping to reduce accommodation costs and other living fees.<br /></p>

<p dir="ltr">As you will be joining our January cohort, you will pay the tuition fees advertised for the academic cycle that began in the preceding September. </p>
<p dir="ltr">International students joining us from ArtsLink will be eligible for our Partnership Scholarship, which is a fee reduction worth up to £4,000.<br /></p>
<p>In order to enrol on a Foundation course at Artslink, you will need to achieve the following qualifications:<br /></p><ul><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Huikao minimum of 60% / Successful completion of Chinese Senior Secondary School Certificate at 60%.</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 4.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing) or equivalent.</p></li></ul>

<p dir="ltr">In order to enrol on a BA (Hons) course at Arts University Plymouth, you will need to achieve the following qualifications:</p><ul><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Huikao minimum of 70% (or other L2 qualifications e.g. iGCSEs)</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing) or equivalent and successful candidate articulation discussion including presentation of the portfolio with the Arts University Plymouth Admissions and Recruitment team</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">For direct entry into one of our Distance Learning degrees from China, we would require 60% in the Gaokao plus IELTS 6 (with min of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.</p></li></ul>
<p>We recognise the value of a variety of qualifications and relevant experience and welcome applications from students who have followed less traditional routes. We also accept a range of <strong>international qualifications </strong>and will look at each application individually. </p>

<p>All applicants will be required to show a portfolio of creative work, and may be invited to an interview with a member of Arts University Plymouth’s academic team. We welcome interest from students who may not have the traditional qualification profile, but can demonstrate their skills and abilities through the interview and portfolio process, and have the capacity to develop their academic skills during their first year of study.</p>
<p>Once we’ve received your application, we will set up your interview: if you are living overseas this will be an online video or telephone call. If you are successful, we will send you a formal letter of confirmation by email.</p>

<p>All students applying to study at Arts University Plymouth need to demonstrate that they have a good command of the English language. Our standard language requirement is <strong>IELTS 6.0</strong> with a <strong>minimum score of 5.5 in each component or an equivalent standard in an alternative English language test. </strong>If you are not sure which test to take, please email <a href="mailto:international@aup.ac.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">international@aup.ac.uk</a> and we can advise you.</p>
<p>For students who require it, Artslink also offers pre-sessional English language programmes to help you achieve Arts University Plymouth’s English language entry requirement of IELTS 6.0. Comprising of intensive study of all four key language competencies (reading, writing, speaking and listening), students will be immersed in a creative English-speaking environment at the Artslink campus in the autumn, ensuring quick and effective progression for achieving satisfactory IELTS grades to start Year 1 of their BA (Hons) degree. </p>
<p>After students have completed a pre-sessional language course with Artslink, a quick and affordable online language test can be taken for Arts University Plymouth using Duolingo, to demonstrate your English language progress and support your application.</p>
<p>Furthermore, when students subsequently start their chosen degree course, all students enrolled at the Artslink Connected Campus will benefit from additional ongoing English for Academic Purposes classes specially designed for the needs of university art and design students in China. From essay writing workshops to English for critiques and presentations, students will enjoy personalised support for their language study needs throughout their first year to help them succeed and progress to Year Two of their chosen undergraduate course at Arts University Plymouth.<br /></p>
