Did you know that Plymouth is ranked one of the most affordable cities in the UK ahead of Exeter, Bristol, and Falmouth, with students in Bristol paying (on average) up to 41% more than those in Plymouth for accommodation?

Most students in their first year choose to live in a Student Hall of Residence. These provide a fun and safe introduction to independent living: all halls rooms offer ensuite bathrooms, and have bright and airy communal areas, with cooking, dining and social facilities.

Rooms are fully furnished to a modern standard, and you can usually stay for up to 43 weeks of the year. You will share your flat with other Arts University Plymouth students, and to top it off you also have a 24/7 concierge at some properties, along with flat-screen televisions in the lounge and even a free play pool table.

Student houses are a great way to jump straight into the student lifestyle. Often a mix of first, second and third-year students, they offer a great place to call home while you study.

As an extra plus, these rooms are often bigger than in halls, but also cheaper. If you’re keen on making your student loan go further, there’s a wide range of shared houses of different styles and sizes on offer. Student Accommodation UK Search is a great place to start looking.

Moving into halls can be intimidating, but it’s less scary if you know what will be there waiting for you! Most accommodation providers list your essentials and what space you’ll have to put them in (for example you might have only have one cupboard per person in a shared kitchen, so don’t go and buy a large set of pots and pans).
