Fashion is an evolutionary and multi-faceted industry that takes innovations in technology and culture as inspiration. From creative online campaigns and fashion shoots designed to provoke questions about society, through to discussions around retail and how in-store experiences and online shopping are changing the profession – multitudes of processes occur within Fashion Media & Marketing.

When the shows wrap in Milan, the best dressed head to Paris. Our students spent four days capturing the best street style looks as seen on the elite of the fashion industry.

This creative and hands-on degree is for students who aspire to work in fashion imaging, styling, social media, branding or publishing. Our diverse programme allows for innovative experimentation in all areas of fashion communication and promotion, and produces individual graduates who are ready to commit to a wide range of roles in the global fashion, lifestyle and beauty industries.

Designed to nurture talented and self-motivated students, this practice-based, multidisciplinary programme will enable you to engage with fashion from a strategic position, developing experiential and digital futures. You will cultivate strong conceptual, visual and written communication skills and explore a broad range of techniques including photography and moving image, analytics and market research, art direction and styling, social media and advertising.

Strictly for the fashion curious, this programme allows you to gather intelligence and insight from the cultural landscape, turning it into exciting multi-media communications for print, digital and campaign design. With online support from experienced industry professionals and expert technicians you will transform contextual sources into written articles or broadcast media, observing themes such as culture and appropriation, customer behaviour, commodity and business strategies.

Working independently and as part of interdisciplinary networks across the university, you will collaborate with Film, Photography and Animation students to explore rich media content for social platforms. This collaborative attitude combined with an exclusive mix of subject matter covered by our programme ensures that you will have the opportunity to diversify and tailor your learning so that by graduation your portfolio gets you the career you want. Sessions by visiting lecturers from industry are recorded wherever possible and shared with the university community.

Our study programmes actively encourage diversity in thinking and making - from practical applications through to reflective, analytical writing. Through visual exploration, collaborative working, cross-fertilisation of ideas, and the exploration of histories and contemporary contexts you’ll examine fashion attitudes in popular culture and music, and gain insight into fashion movements and how they have impacted the world as we know it.

We enrich our learning environment with an aspirational programme of live industry projects, guest speakers and internships. Recent course contributors have included; Vogue, ID Magazine, Dazed Digital, It’s Nice That, Dior Homme, GQ, Size? Converse, Pro Direct, Amazon, Urban Outfitters, Topshop, Ellesse and Finisterre,

Practical applications are underpinned by reflective, analytical writing and research, expanding your critical approach and enabling you to build strong conceptual, visual and communication skills. From the exploration of fashion history and culture to contemporary contexts and future-forecasting, you will be encouraged to interrogate fashion media and marketing’s role in society.
