FASHION & TEXTILES: UAL LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE
Our Graduates
Molly Mildren is Buyer at Mint Velvet, a British womenswear clothing brand with 46 boutiques across the UK and Ireland, a store in Dubai Festival City mall and international concessions within De Bijenkorf and Manor as well as John Lewis, House of Fraser and Fenwick.
‘My time at Arts University Plymouth was excellent. I studied an Extended Diploma here a few years ago and then moved to Cardiff to continue at degree level – but I moved back after my first year. The facilities there didn’t compare. In Arts University Plymouth, they’re amazing and it’s great how we get access to everything – screenprinting, 3D design in the Fab Lab, photography, and more – not just the fashion studio.’
Penny Chan is a Publicity Coordinator at Netflix, with a background in fashion and media. She graduated with a Distinction in ED Fashion & Textiles from Arts University Plymouth in 2014, later completing her BA (Hons) in Fashion, Media & Marketing in 2017.
She initially made her mark at Christian Dior Couture, managing shoots and VIP fittings for both menswear and womenswear lines. Her role expanded at Guardian News & Media, where she coordinated logistics for fashion shoots and features. Penny has also worked on marketing strategies for high-profile clients like Warner Bros and Spotify during her time at PHD. Now based in London, she continues to excel in her current role at Netflix, building strong industry relationships.
Billie Jacobina first became interested in textiles when she attended a Saturday Arts Club aged 11. A few years later, she chose Arts University Plymouth for her Extended Diploma in Fashion and Textiles, where she learnt a variety of foundations skills that have proven essential in her career as a professional designer. After her ED, Billie was accepted into UCA Rochester and on graduating, she was awarded the prestigious Graduate Fashion Week International Residency Award in Jakarta. In Indonesia, Billie collaborated on a collection with the Indonesian brand LEKAT, which was subsequently shown at Jakarta Fashion Week. She also won Fashion Scout’s ‘Ones to Watch’ at Graduate Fashion Week 2016, and showcased her collection ‘BOP by Billie’ at London Fashion Week two years later.
