Tim Bolton
Artist, Educator and Ward Councillor for Burrator on West Devon Borough Council & Honorary Fellow (2019)
<p dir="ltr">Tim Bolton is a former Vice Principal of Arts University Plymouth, who was elected as Ward Councillor for Burrator on West Devon Borough Council, and is Head of Programmes at Dartington. A practicing artist and sculptor who studied architectural ceramics and glass at the RCA, Tim sits on the board of the Group for Learning in Art and Design (GLAD).</p>
<p dir="ltr">During his 16 years working with Arts University Plymouth, Tim was instrumental in its transition from a college of Further Education to a Higher Education Institution with Pre-Degree campus. In 2009 Tim co-founded Making Futures, a biannual international conference on crafts and sustainability, and in 2013 Tim was involved from the inception, in the application and bid to government to open Plymouth School of Creative Arts, the UK’s first creative Free School.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Arts University Plymouth awarded an Honorary Fellowship to Tim Bolton in 2019 in recognition of his formative contribution to the development of the institution (then Plymouth College of Art) as a Higher Education Institution, and his exceptional commitments to social justice and widening participation throughout his career.<br /></p>
