Elliot Walker
Visiting Artist

Elliot Walker started his creative career whilst studying for a Psychology degree in 2007, when he had the unusual hobby of creating stained glass windows. Following the completion of his degree he decided to dedicate himself to glasswork and began training in all aspects of glassmaking and design at Dudley College in the West Midlands, followed with a Masters degree from the University of Wolverhampton.

Walker has worked at the prestigious Red House Glass Cone, where he now has a studio, and Peter Layton’s London Glassblowing Studio, and in 2021 won the Netflix glass blowing competition series ‘Blown Away’.

The inspiration for his work is varied and wide-ranging, but comes mostly from classical sculpture and painting. Walker is known for his sculptural and surreal pieces, challenging the many preconceptions around glass. He sculpts molten glass, known as the Massello technique, which requires extreme dexterity, speed and precision.
