<p>Andy started life as a Marine Engineer Officer in the Merchant Navy, before enjoying an extensive career in commerce, industry and the public sector. He has worked with some of the largest global corporations, including ExxonMobil, Conoco, Tesco, M&amp;S, Diageo and MyTravel, as well as founding and leading several small businesses in the area of SMART, sustainable and low carbon solutions.</p> <p>He has worked in many sectors – including higher education, food manufacturing, defence, finance, travel &amp; tourism, construction, retail, engineering, SME, utilities, energy, oil &amp; gas exploration and seafaring. From global #1 to SME and companies in between. Public, private and third sector, including non-executive roles for a number of charities.</p> <p>He currently has a number of interim assignments through his consultancy business, Anient Ltd, and maintains a strong interest as a shareholder and director of ZLC Energy Ltd, a renewable energy company headquartered in Liskeard.</p> <p>He is a strong advocate for education and lifelong learning as well as a supporter of the arts and the environment.</p> <p>He is very happily married and living in Torpoint. His 2 Children and 5 Grandchildren are all far away but love their visits to Cornwall.</p>
