ART & DESIGN: UAL LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PRACTICE

Our stimulating pre-degree programme is delivered by our team of academics, technical demonstrators and invited experts who together deliver excellence in teaching. You’ll learn in a dedicated pre-degree campus, surrounded by creative inspiration and likeminded young people, all of whom are preparing for success in higher education and industry.

<p>When you successfully complete this two-year course, you’ll gain a Level 3 Extended Diploma – equivalent to three full A-levels, or a maximum of 168 UCAS points.</p> <p>We <strong>guarantee our Extended Diploma students a place on one of our <a href="https://www.plymouthart.ac.uk/courses?orderBy=lft&amp;studyLevel=33">BA (Hons) programmes</a></strong> if they achieve a Merit or higher in their final assessment and meet any additional entry criteria. </p> <p>Many of our students go on to a variety of <a href="https://www.plymouthart.ac.uk/courses?orderBy=lft&amp;studyLevel=33">degree-level programmes </a>here at Arts University Plymouth. Alternatively, you might take the transferable skills that this course gives you and look for study in another subject area (e.g Psychology, Advertising) or enter employment.</p> <p>As well as the ongoing advice, guidance and support you’ll receive from your course team, the university has a specialist careers service that will help you make the right decisions for your future.</p> <p><strong>Future careers could include: </strong>fine artist, set designer, curator, textile designer, ceramicist, jeweller, glass artist, painter, printmaker, art historian, photographer, product designer, or milliner.<br /></p>

Our Graduates

Annie Williams 1
<p dir="ltr">Annie Williams, an alumna of Arts University Plymouth, earned her UAL Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art &amp; Design in 2019. She continued her educational journey at the London College of Fashion, graduating in 2022 with a BA (Hons) Fashion Visual Merchandising and Branding degree. Currently serving as the Social Media and Digital Content Officer for Arts University Plymouth, Annie is a member of the brand team.</p> <p dir="ltr">In her role, Annie collaborates with key stakeholders such as the Head of Communications and Marketing, the Senior Press &amp; Communications Officer, and the Brand and Digital Marketing Manager, contributing to a broad spectrum of content and communications initiatives. Her responsibilities encompass promoting the university, its students, staff, alumni, and partners both nationally and internationally. Annie works towards researching, writing, creating, and publishing compelling content across various platforms, including social media channels and the website. Additionally, she takes the lead in communications on social channels, working towards extending and developing the AUP brand.</p> <p dir="ltr">In addition to her role at the university, Annie has contributed her creative skills to the tech industry, leading marketing campaigns and communications related to blockchain and web3 technology for stakeholders such as Nissan, Cadburys, and Atos. Annie delves into extensive research and crafting written content on the ethics of such technologies, including artificial intelligence.</p> <p dir="ltr">“My previous and personal work consistently revolves around social issues and ethics. Whether through writing or graphic design, I have a profound interest in socioeconomic, ethical, and societal matters, striving to address them through thoughtful design solutions. I also campaign for changes around disability and equality policies, as I am a very proud disabled person!"</p> <p dir="ltr">You can often find her in the brand team, passionately researching the achievements of the university's talented students while enjoying copious amounts of tea!<br /></p>
Nicholas White
<p dir="ltr">Dartmoor based photographer Nicholas White graduated from Arts University Plymouth in 2013, going on to take his love of the outdoors and the National Park’s unique landscape into his work. Nicholas has successfully exhibited his work in Romania, Italy and the UK and has won several awards for his landscape photography. Nicholas also won The Royal Photographic Society’s Environmental Bursary, allowing him to travel to Romania and photograph the Guardians of the Forest as they restore the mountains and forests back to their natural state.</p> <p dir="ltr">His clients include National Geographic, The New York Times, TIME Magazine, Red Bull, Puma, Bloomberg Businessweek, Financial Times, The Guardian and The Telegraph Magazine.<br /></p>
